Women should exfoliate the skin once in a while to remove the dead skin. Sometimes the skin needs more exhaustive cleansing routine. These need not be a daily ritual, but sometimes such exfoliation becomes a need to rejuvenate and stimulate the skin and get a clearer skin with fewer lines and wrinkles. Your skin types determines how often you should exfoliate. Ideally speaking, it should be done once in a week. Women who have abnormally oily skins and an acne problem can do so twice a week.But never more than that because over-exfoliation can damage blood vessels . This can cause redness and inflammation. Here are some of the recipes made from natural products.
Take 1 tablespoon of wheat husk and add to it 1 tablespoon of milk, 1 tablespoon honey and a pinch of turmeric powder to make a paste. Take the paste in your palm and rub on your face in circular motions for 5 - 8 minutes. This paste is not very sticky and do not stay on the face so take it again and again keep rubbing. Skin looks very soft and glowing immediately.
Take two tablespoon of gram four(also known as chickpea powder) and add one teaspoon of turmeric powder and one tablespoon of olive oil. Make a thick paste. Apply it on the face, forehead and neck. Let it remain for sometime. When it dries up, rub with your hands, scrubbing as you go along. Then wash it off with lukewarm water. This is a effective scrub.
This is a good exfoliate for a tough skin. Take two tablespoon of oatmeal and add one teaspoon honey, a pinch of salt and cold milk to make a thick non dripping paste. Apply all over the face, forehead and neck(avoiding eyes). When it starts drying, rub with your hand using brisk, firm movements.
Take grated cabbage leaves and tie in a thin muslin cloth and rub all over the forehead, face and neck. Keep rubbing, applying pressure. This is avery mild scrub and cleans very gently.
Take half cup of rice and grind to make fine paste. Add one tablespoon honey and two tablespoon curd to this powder. Blend well. Apply all over the face. This paste dries up very fast so rub quickly in circular motions. This makes a excellent scrub.
An ideal scrub for a very tender skin. TAke half cup yellow lentil and soak in water for sometime. When it gets soft, grind it into a fine past. Add a teaspoon of gram flour(besan) and enough milk to make a thick paste. Apply it on face, forehead and neck. Keep rubbing it in circular motion, to remove dead skin.
